1. Non-Limited-Slip 3.31 Rear Axle
The main difference between the Expedition and the Expedition Max models is the available Non-limited-slip 3.31 rear axle. This axel replaces the Non-limited-slip 3.15 rear axle which comes standard in some models.
2. Entertainment System
The Expedition Max offers a fully comprehensive entertainment system. This includes a center console touch screen and two screens in the back of each front seat headrest that allows backseat passengers to watch DVDs, access your home TV subscription, or even plug in a gaming system!
The Expedition Max also includes a 12 speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, six USB ports, and a wireless charger! It even includes a SiriusXM Traffic/Traffic Plus and Travel Link navigation system with a free trial of up to five years depending on the model you choose.
3. Best-In-Class Towing
Seat up to eight passengers and tow up to 9,300 lbs! Ford also offers a number of great features which make towing a breeze like the Pro Trailer Backup Assist which guides you while reversing the trailer.
The Roll Stability Control helps control sway and the Blind Spot Information System will monitor both your SUV and your trailer’s blind spots so you can change lanes with confidence. The integrated trailer brake controller ensures you’re always in control.
4. Power
The 3.5L EcoBoost provides excellent responsiveness and power. Hills are no problem with Hill-Start Assist and Hill Descent Control; these are particularly useful while towing.
The 10-speed transmission increases performance and responsiveness elevating the driving experience. Independent front and rear suspension and continuously controlled damping create a smooth ride even on rough terrain.
5. Safety Features
With a host of safety features available on the Expedition Max, you can feel confident that you and your family are safe on the roads. The Pre-Collision System with Auto-Braking not only detects other vehicles but pedestrians too keeping everyone safe during city drives or in case of unexpected wildlife.
The Blind Spot Information System mentioned above also features Cross-Traffic Alert so you will know if any traffic appears behind you while you back out of a parking space or driveway. Other great features include:
