1. Pinnacle Mountain State Park

This vast 2,356-acre state park sits just outside of the city and features miles of hiking trails that will take visitors through verdant forests and up to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain. Kayakers and canoers also flock to the park thanks to its location between the two Maumelle Rivers. As a Trail of Tears National Historic Site, the park features a visitor center that helps to educate guests about the forced removal of Native Americans from the Southeast.

2. The William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum

Dedicated to the nation’s 42nd president, this presidential center houses thousands of items related to the Clinton era. It even recreates the Oval Office and Cabinet Room as they were during his presidency. Visitors to the Policy Alcove can view countless documents and visual media to learn about the work undertaken by the Clinton Administration.

The museum also aims to help promote policies set during President Clinton’s tenure. For instance, the Cool Globes art exhibit continues to inform the public about the dangers of climate change and what can be done to combat them.

3. Little Rock Zoo

Opened in 1926, this 33-acre zoo is home to over 500 animals from a wide variety of species. One of the first areas you’ll encounter is the Great Apes exhibit, which features the Bornean orangutan, chimpanzees, and a family of western lowland gorillas. On the opposite side of the zoo is the African Savannah, where ostriches and herds of zebra roam. There’s also a large aviary and reptile house filled with exotic animals from around the world.

4. Rock Town Distillery

Little Rock’s premier craft distillery will take you through the production process of many fine spirits, including bourbon, gin, and vodka. Another tour provides an in-depth look into the history of bourbon whiskey making in the United States. Afterward, you’ll get to enjoy a tasting where you’ll sample Rock Town’s top-quality products, which are also available in the distillery’s gift shop. Always drink responsibly and avoid driving under the influence.

This lively market along the Arkansas River hosts an expansive list of vendors that offer delicious international cuisine and fresh local produce. Here, you’ll find everything from exotic Persian dishes to a vegan bistro.
