Here’s everything you need to know about this truck before going to your dealership.

1. Exterior Design

Drivers can choose from either the 5-seat SuperCab or the 4-seat SuperCrew. Thrilling exterior characteristics include an upright grille, a long beltline, and an extended wheelbase to create fewer frontal overhangs and enhance off-road capabilities.

Ford provides three trim levels in the new Ranger; XL, XLT, and Lariat. There are also several exterior color paint options to choose from, including ingot silver, lightning blue, shadow black, hot pepper red, forged green, and more.

2. Performance

Under the hood, every new Ranger uses a turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine that cranks 270 horsepower and 310 lb. ft of torque. A ten-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard while maintaining smooth gear shifts that allow drivers to stay focused while driving.

The engine also offers an Automatic Start/Stop Technology that helps to minimize fuel consumption. What’s more impressive is the truck’s fuel economy, which features 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

3. Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2022 Ranger boasts a plethora of modern infotainment and connectivity features to entertain everyone in the car during trips. The base XL trim comes standard with connectivity features such as a 3.5-inch display, a 4-speaker AM/FM audio system, a USB port, and a WIFI hotspot that connects up to ten devices.

If the standard touchscreen isn’t big enough, you may opt for an 8-inch touchscreen system, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offered in the Lariat and XLT variants. Other infotainment features offered as upgrades are dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker audio system, two more USB ports, navigation, and satellite radio.

4. Driver-Assistance Systems

The new Ford Ranger allows you to access some of the most advanced driver-aid systems to keep you safer while traveling and more aware of everything around your car. Every new Ranger features a rearview camera and a forward collision warning with pedestrian detection that detects a possible collision with a vehicle or pedestrian in front and immediately warns the driver.

The forward automatic emergency braking identifies a potential crash and automatically activates the brakes to stop or slow down a car before an impact. Additional driver-assist features are blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and rear and front parking sensors.

The 2022 Ranger offers a magnificent blend of comfort and powerful on-and-off-road capabilities. The extended 5-seater cab has four full-size doors that make it easier for taller family members or friends to get in and out as many times as they’d wish to. Rear view of a red 2022 Ford Bronco parked in front of a lake in a wooded area. | Ford dealer in Little Rock, AR.

When the great outdoors calls, you need an SUV that can traverse through the elements and different terrains with ease. The 2022 Ford Bronco Sport packs the performance and versatility needed for this job, along with a comfortable cabin and some of the most advanced tech features available in any crossover vehicle today. For a better breakdown, here’s a quick guide on the 2022 Bronco Sport and some of its most exciting standout features.

Strong Performance

Regardless of whether you’re taking to dirt trails or pavement, the Bronco Sport is ready for it all thanks to its two different engine choices, 8-speed automatic transmission, and standard four-wheel-drive powertrain. The base engine is a 181-horsepower 1.5-liter, while a 2.0-liter with 249 horsepower is also available.

To save on fuel, both engines feature Auto Start-Stop Technology, and you can tow up to 2,200 pounds with the 2.0-liter engine. H.O.S.S., a suspension system geared towards off-road driving, comes standard in all models, as does a five-mode terrain traction system, which comes with seven modes in the rock-tackling Badlands model.

Trail-Ready Design

Ford also designed this SUV’s interior with off-road activities in mind, so in addition to its spacious five-seater cabin, rubberized flooring is available with drain plugs, so you can quickly rinse out the dirt after taking to the trails. The second-row seats also fold flat if you should need more room for camping equipment or groceries.

A safari-style roof, as well as a heavy-duty steel roof, are both available, so you can decide if you’d rather have more space for cargo or a sturdy surface to camp out on above the vehicle.

Decadent Technology

For making phone calls while on the road or toggling through music playlists, you can connect your smartphone wirelessly to the vehicle’s SYNC 3 infotainment system. An available Wi-Fi hotspot is also available, so you and your family members or friends can connect to the internet simultaneously with your personal devices.

While charging your phone with the wireless charging pad, you can also keep a lookout for obstacles or animals on the trail around you with the split-view 180-degree camera.

Superior Safety Features

Many of the Bronco Sport’s standard and available safety features are ahead of their time. No longer will you have to remember to turn your high beams off for other vehicles or when lighting conditions change because the Auto High-Beam Headlamps can automatically do this for you.

There’s also Pre-Collision Assist with Active Emergency Braking, which can detect when obstacles are in your path and can then bring the vehicle to a stop when necessary. If there isn’t enough time to stop, the Evasive Steering Assist feature will then kick into action and will attempt to quickly steer your vehicle around an obstacle or other vehicle to avoid a collision.

The 2022 Bronco Sport has quickly earned its status as a first-class off-road SUV, thanks to its rugged design, robust performance, and phenomenal technology. Visit us at Crain Ford of Little Rock today to take this striking Ford crossover out for a test drive or to discuss our affordable finance options.

Your Ford’s transmission is probably the hardest working component in your car. Its purpose is to convert the chaotic power of the engine into a manageable form to move your car. The gear system built into the transmission ensures that your wheels receive the right amount of power for the speed you desire. The constant demand placed on the transmission means that you may need a transmission repair. As your Ford dealer, we can repair it for you.

Slipping Gears

One of the signs of a transmission problem is slipping gears. When your car is in gear, it should shift into another gear only if the transmission computer shifts it or you shift it manually. If you have slipping gears, the transmission can suddenly shift into another gear without warning. This is a dangerous and stressful situation, especially if it occurs when you’re accelerating or overtaking another vehicle.

In an automatic transmission, the gear will usually slip back into the previous gear, while manual transmission will slip into neutral. The randomness of gear slipping makes it dangerous to drive your car as you don’t have complete control over it. We advise you to park your car and call our service department ASAP. Our highly-trained technicians will examine your transmission and fix the cause of the problem.

Leaking Fluid

Your transmission is an extremely hot place due to the constant movement of hundreds of moving parts. Transmission fluid helps to reduce the temperature by cooling the hot parts. It also provides a friction barrier between gears and other components to prevent damage. Unlike engine oil, transmission fluid isn’t consumed by your car. This means a low level of fluid must be caused by a leak.

The three most common places transition fluid leaks are the transmission pan gasket, the transmission cooler lines, and the transmission seals. None of these places are easy to check at home. You can, however, test for a leak by placing a large piece of cardboard underneath your car overnight. If the cardboard has red splotches on it, you have a transmission leak. Our technicians will find and fix the leak.

Burning fluid

The transmission fluid is bright red and sweet-smelling. As it flows through your transmission, it will accumulate clutch debris, dirt, and even rust particles. All of this junk is absorbed by the fluid, and this makes it slower and thicker. Thick, slow transmission fluid doesn’t work effectively, and it loses some of its heat resistance properties. We regularly change your transmission fluid according to your service schedule to prevent this.

If the transmission fluid isn’t changed, the old fluid can get very hot and start to burn. Burning transmission fluid isn’t sweet-smelling, it smells like burning rubber. If you smell this, it’s time to see us for a transmission flush and fluid replacement.

Most transmission problems can be resolved by prompt action. Call us at Crain Ford of Little Rock, and our experts will fix the problem for you.

Profile view of a red 2022 Ford Explorer being driven on the highway. | Ford dealer in Little Rock, AR.

When you need an adventurous SUV that fits as comfortably in off-road scenarios as it does on local city streets, consider the resilient 2022 Explorer. Known for its 4×4 capabilities, plush interior, and convenient tech features, this vehicle is remarkably agile across different terrains and doesn’t back down from a challenge. So, if you haven’t experienced the 2022 Ford Explorer yet, here’s a quick introduction to some of its highlights.

Multiple Performance Options

Of the three engines available for the 2022 Explorer, the strongest in the group is the ground-shaking 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, as it delivers 400 horsepower. The other two engines, a 300-horsepower 2.3-liter and a 3.3-liter hybrid with 318 horses are both impressively powerful as well.

Off the pavement, you can tackle just about any challenging scenario by combining the 7-mode Terrain Management System with the Intelligent 4WD option, along with the durable Michelin self-sealing tires. The available 8.7 inches of ground clearance, limited-slip rear differential, and skid plates found on Timberline models are just some of the reasons why it’s considered to be the Explorer’s premium off-road trim.

Relaxing and Spacious Inside

Inside the Explorer’s roomy cabin, which seats up to seven passengers, is a tri-zone climate control system, so passengers can enjoy their own temperature settings. Ambient lighting and front-row multi-contour seats with five back massage settings are also available.

If you’re a music lover, the outstanding 12-speaker B&O audio system is a must-have option, as it adds an exhilarating background soundtrack with pristine clarity to every drive. To keep camping equipment or groceries neatly organized, there’s an available cargo management system for storing cargo behind the third-row seats.

Truly Innovative Technology

This SUV’s technology is notable as well, as there are plenty of different state-of-the-art options available. With any compatible smartphone, you can connect to Wi-Fi with the 4G LTE hotspot or access your contacts and make hands-free calls to them with the SYNC 3 infotainment system. You can also charge your device without any cables, thanks to the wireless charging console.

The available Adaptive Cruise Control System, one of Ford’s major technological feats, can help to relieve stress on long drives by keeping your vehicle’s speed set to your preferences while also adapting it to the speed of other vehicles in your lane.

Stay Secure in All Scenarios

Steering clear of other vehicles in your daily drives is simpler with advanced warning technology like Pre-Collision Assist, Lane-Centering, and the Blind Spot Information System. Even while slowly reversing in parking lots, you’ll have increased safety with the vehicle’s rearview camera and reverse parking sensors.

If you forget to turn your high beams off as another vehicle is approaching yours, the Auto High-Beam Headlamps feature can automatically do this for you so other drivers aren’t distracted by your lights. Even parking is made simpler with the available Active Park Assist 2.0 system, which can park the vehicle for you after you’ve located an empty parking space.

The 2022 Explorer offers the best of both worlds with its rugged approach to tough terrains and comfortable, tech-integrated cabin. Come take this versatile Ford vehicle for a spin today at Crain Ford of Little Rock to see why it’s considered a legend among SUVs.

Rear view of a silver 2022 Ford Mustang being driven on the highway. | Ford dealer in Little Rock, AR.

Has there ever been a more aptly named car than the Ford Mustang? Named after the fast, muscular, regal stallion – the Mustang lives up to its name. The 2022 Ford Mustang is another in a long line of success, dating all the way back to 1965. Continue reading to learn more about why the Mustang is such a special automobile.

Basics About the 2022 Ford Mustang

The 2022 Mustang is back with its classic power. There’s a reason why it was voted one of the top performance coupes of 2022. It’s no surprise that the Mustang packs a punch, with the base EcoBoost trim featuring a 310 horsepower Mustang EcoBoost engine. The rest of the trim levels sure don’t pull any punches.

The Mustang GT is equipped with a 5.0L V8 engine, delivering 450 horsepower. The Mustang Mach-1 will also come equipped with the 5.0L V8 engine but ups the horsepower to 470. Then there’s the GT500. This beast has a supercharged 5.2L V8 engine under the hood and is pulling an insane 760 horsepower.

What’s New

New appearance packages, like the Ice White Edition, Stealth Edition, and the Coastal Limited edition, are available this year. As the name suggests, the Ice White Edition will be a whited-out mustang – even featuring white rims. The Stealth Edition is equipped with sharp blacked-out accents and features matching color options for the interior. The Coastal Limited Edition has the perfect aesthetic of a “beach car”, with its convertible roof and unique body accents.

Style Meets Grace

The Mustang will continue to boast its classic coupe look. There are numerous exterior colors to choose from, a few being Rapid Red, Oxford White, Shadow Black, Eruption Green, Atlas Blue, Mischievous Purple, and Dark Matter Gray. The interior options are Dark Ceramic and Ebony. But if you’re looking for that next-level look, then the special appearance packages mentioned above are all great options.

What is all that style going to do if the ride is clunky? Well don’t fret, the ride is as smooth as ever. With the GT’s 4.6 seconds 0-60 time, you may be surprised to hear the Mustang can also take corners with precise efficiency. The suspension system also provides for an even ride, eliminating harsh and rough bumps.

Ford Technology

Ford’s motto is “Built Tough”, but maybe an addendum of “Built Smart” should be added. The Mustang is indeed built smart to match all of its brawn. The standard model features a modest yet adequate 4.2-inch screen display, which is increased to 8.0-inches in the GT and Mach 1 trims. With these displays, you can have a world of convenience with features like smartphone connectivity, ease of navigation, and easily accessible car support systems.

Safety systems, like the anti-lock braking system and the stability control system, are key technologies for road safety. The anti-lock braking system prevents your car from seizing wheel rotation in sudden braking, while the stability control system aids in the continued steady traction of the wheels to grant greater maneuverability and steering. With great power comes great responsibility and that is why Ford built the Mustang with strength and safety in mind.

Ford has a history of reliability, confidence in its manufacturing process, and creating attractive automobiles. The Mustang is a testament to all three of those qualities. Having the same standards when looking for a dealer will ensure your peace of mind in the car-shopping process. Give Crain Ford of Little Rock a call now to learn more about why Ford and the Ford Mustang is the right vehicle for you.

A car air filter prevents dust, road dirt, and debris from reaching the engine. When you regularly replace your car’s old and dirty air filter with a new one at your Ford dealer, you will reap many benefits, including better gas mileage and reduced emissions. Best of all, your engine will last longer.

1. Better Gas Mileage

If you want to spend less cash on gas, replace your car’s dirty and clogged air filter with a new one, and we guarantee you will have to fill up less often at the pump. An air filter that is clogged up prevents clean air from flowing through to the engine, and your car makes up for it by guzzling more gas. A new air filter will increase the airflow to the engine, lowering your car’s fuel consumption. Improve your gas mileage by asking your Ford technician to replace the filter.

2. Lower Emissions

To avoid a lot of car trouble that will lead to costly repairs and to minimize your car’s emissions, have your air filter replaced by your Ford technician regularly. When leaves, bugs, dust, and dirt block the air filter, not enough clean air can flow through, causing an improper air-fuel mixture.

Deposits accumulate on the engine, a soot residue will foul the spark plugs, and your car will shake, vibrate, and idle roughly. You might even find it hard to start your vehicle, and in extreme cases, your vehicle will misfire. Fuel that is not burned properly might even cause black smoke to billow out of your exhaust.

3. Longer Engine Life

An air filter’s most important job is to keep dust and dirt, and other harmful contaminants that could damage components away from your engine. A clogged and dirty air filter causes poor engine performance, leading to poor gas mileage, loss of power, and increased emissions.

Regularly replacing your car’s air filter will make your engine last longer. When an air filter is new, the right amount of clean and fresh air flows through to the engine, ensuring optimal engine performance.

4. Increased Vehicle Performance

If you want your Ford to perform at its best, your engine needs clean air. A dirty and clogged air filter will prevent the engine from running smoothly. You will hear all sorts of horrible noises coming from under the hood, from spluttering and popping sounds to coughing noises. Worse of all, your car will feel slow and sluggish when you step on the accelerator.

To ensure your vehicle is performing optimally, stick to your service schedule. Your Ford technicians will replace your car’s air filter at the factory-recommended intervals to avoid car troubles that could lead to expensive repairs and replacements.

Replace your car’s air filter regularly, and you will save money on gas, reduce your car’s emissions, and your Ford will run smoothly and be a pleasure to drive. Contact Crain Ford of Little Rock today and schedule a maintenance appointment. Our qualified Ford technicians will thoroughly inspect your vehicle and ensure it performs at its best.

So, you’re in the market for a new vehicle, but you don’t have quite enough cash on hand to pay for it outright. Financing the vehicle means you can drive it home today, and fortunately, your local dealer can help. Here’s why you should look no further than your local Ford dealer for car financing.

1. It’s Usually the Fastest Option

Financing your new car or truck through the dealership is usually the fastest and most convenient approach. You can pick out a vehicle, negotiate the price, and arrange financing without ever leaving the dealership. We know you’ll be excited about your new vehicle, and arranging the financing through your dealership is the fastest way of getting behind the wheel.

2. It’s a Great Deal

Most dealerships have large financing departments that work on getting each buyer a competitive interest rate. Once you’ve filled out a financing application, your dealer will shop it around to multiple lenders and bring a set of offers back for you to select from. The fact that you’ll have various offers to choose from guarantees that you’ll find a financing package that suits your financial situation.

3. It’s a Solution for Those With Poor Credit

If you’ve got poor credit and are worried about your ability to qualify for financing, a dealership that offers in-house financing is the perfect place to go. When you take advantage of in-house financing, you’re borrowing directly from the auto dealership, not from an independent financial institution. You then pay back the amount you borrowed, plus interest fees, to the dealership.

A dealership with in-house financing may take a more lenient approach when evaluating your credit score and your overall financial picture. Even if your credit isn’t great, you still stand a good chance of being offered financing when you work with a dealer that offers in-house financing.

4. It May Open Up a Special Offer

Some buyers who finance through the dealership qualify for special promotional financing, which usually carries an ultra-low interest rate or, in some cases, no interest rate at all. These offers are usually available only to customers with excellent credit scores. If you’re able to score promotional financing, you can rest assured that you’re being offered extremely low-cost financing.

5. It Won’t Matter Who You Know

One of the great things about financing through a dealership is that it doesn’t matter who you are or who you know. Dealerships will work with anyone to get a great financing package. It doesn’t matter how much money you make or if you’ve purchased cars from that dealership before. A good dealer will partner with you and advocate on your behalf when reaching out to lenders.

Car shopping is fun, and getting comfortable with the financing process helps you relax and enjoy picking out your next car or truck. What are you waiting for? Head to Crain Ford of Little Rock and pick out a brand new vehicle today!

Is your car overheating? Don’t stress. The qualified and experienced technicians at your Ford dealer will quickly determine the cause and expertly fix your vehicle’s overheating problem in no time at all.

Signs Your Car is Overheating

You will know your car is overheating when the engine temperature gauge is in the red. You will also hear a ticking sound coming from under the hood and might even get a whiff of leaking coolant or burnt oil. Your car will also overheat when there is not enough coolant and engine oil. Check under your car for telltale puddles to see if oil or coolant is leaking.

If you see steam or smoke pouring out from under the hood, it indicates that the engine is getting too hot. Whatever is causing your car to overheat, contact your Ford technician immediately for assistance.

The Causes of Overheating

A wide range of issues cause overheating to occur. It could be anything from low coolant, a broken thermostat, and poor airflow to leaks in the cooling system, a malfunctioning radiator fan, and blocked hoses. When your car overheats, it’s vital to get professional assistance. Ignoring overheating issues could lead to severe engine damage that will cost a bundle of cash to repair or replace. Contact your dealership ASAP to ask for help.

What To Do When Your Car Is Overheating

When you notice your car is overheating, avoid further damage with the following tips until your Ford technician fixes the problem.

Turn Off the A/C and Turn On the Heat

The moment you notice your car is overheating, switch off the air conditioner and turn up the heat. In doing so, you will pull the heat away from the engine.

Pull Over

When your car overheats, it’s best not to drive any further. You need to stop in a safe place and switch your car off to allow the engine to cool down. Wait 15 minutes or so before you pop the hood to avoid being injured by the steam.

Phone for Assistance

While you wait for your car to cool down, phone your dealership for assistance. Watch the temperature gauge, and when the temperature is back to normal, you can pop the hood.

Check the Coolant Level

If the coolant is low, top it off. You still need to get your car to your Ford technician to get it checked out thoroughly. You don’t want more damage to occur and fork out cash for costly repairs.

Switch the Engine On

Start the engine when the temperature is back to normal. Keep a watchful eye on the temperature gauge while driving to the dealership. If your car overheats again, pull over and contact your dealership to tow your vehicle.

How To Prevent Your Car From Overheating

Regular maintenance is essential to avoid overheating issues. That is why sticking to the factory prescribed maintenance intervals and relying on top-quality maintenance services are important. During a maintenance inspection, your Ford technician will check every system and component and ensure that all the fluids are topped off to the correct levels.

During maintenance services, issues will be detected early, and major repairs will be avoided down the line. The maintenance schedule and the recommended maintenance intervals are in your vehicle’s owner’s manual, or you can speak to your Ford technician.

When your Ford overheats, the best cause of action is to contact your dealership as soon as possible and allow a qualified Ford technician to determine what is causing the problem. Contact Crain Ford of Little Rock today. Our team of highly-trained Ford technicians will ensure that your vehicle is in excellent running condition.
