Arkansas Arts Center

Located at 2510 Cantrell Road, the Arkansas Arts Center is home to several art collections and exhibitions, like the “Annual Delta Exhibition” and “Young Arkansas Artists Exhibition.” The center also features lectures, art classes and workshops, live children’s theater productions, and programs. Some of these programs include the center’s Art of Fashion program, Art Start!, and Feed Your Mind Friday. The Arkansas Arts Center offers free admission to all visitors.

Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum

Step aboard the historic USS Razorback submarine at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum. You can also view the various Naval vessel exhibits and learn about the history of the Arkansas River. Get a group together to book the Submarine Sleepover experience, where you and your crew can stay the night in the refurbished bunks aboard the sub. Find this museum at 120 Riverfront Park Drive in northern Little Rock. Admission for the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children aged five to 12.

ESSE Purse Museum

Located at 1510 Main St., the ESSE Purse Museum celebrates 20th-century American women through collections of handbags and their contents. One of the ESSE Purse Museum’s permanent exhibits is “A Century of Women and Handbags 1900 – 1999.” The museum is also home to several temporary exhibits that often rotate each quarter. Each continues the museum’s mission to honor and empower women. Admission to the ESSE Purse Museum is $10 for adults, $8 for students, seniors, and military, and children under six get in free.

Historic Arkansas Museum

If you want to learn more about Arkansas’ roots, stop by the Historic Arkansas Museum at 200 E. 3rd St. This museum focuses on the state’s frontier days through a variety of exhibits and collections. Permanent exhibits include “The Knife Gallery” and “Historic Homes.” The “Historic Homes” exhibit lets you explore a variety of antebellum homes like the 19th-century Plum Bayou Log House. Admission for the Historic Arkansas Museum is $2.50 for adults and $1 for children under 18.

Museum of Discovery

Arkansas’ Museum of Discovery promotes science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through interactive exhibits and educational events. Permanent galleries include Earth Journeys, Discovery Hall, Room to Grow, and Tinkering Studio. This science museum is located in downtown Little Rock at 500 President Clinton Ave. Admission for the Museum of Discovery is $10 for adults and $8 for teachers, seniors aged 60 and older, and children aged 12 and under. Active and retired military and Little Rock City employees also get the $8 admission price.
