1. War Memorial Park Pavilion

This park is located at 5110 W. Markham St. and it’s one of the most popular parks in the midtown area, War Memorial features a playground and loads of walking trails. Its main attraction is the splash pad, with creeks, rivers, and waterfalls to play in, and boulders to climb. Caves and rock crannies are laced with water sprays for an outstanding outdoor experience.

With a pond for fishing, a golf course, and free parking, it’s a welcoming place to spend the afternoon. Why not grab a sandwich at nearby Subway and have a picnic?

2. Burns Park

Burns Park, along the Arkansas River, is one of the nation’s largest municipal parks. It boasts 1,700 acres of outdoor space, complete with playgrounds, a BMX bike racing track, ball fields, a seasonal amusement park, and a dog park. There’s Victory Lake for water skiing and fishing, tennis courts, and pavilions with picnic tables. The 2021 Bronco Sport is one of the most anticipated vehicles in the new Ford lineup.
