There are many places you can find a mechanic. However, the cost of vehicle maintenance can be expensive and you don’t want to pay for work that isn’t done properly. Taking your Ford to a trusted mechanic is the only way to ensure the service will be done right. You want the best care for your vehicle, so here are a few tips for finding a quality Ford mechanic that will save you time and money in the long run.

Quality Mechanics Use Quality Parts

Ford vehicles are strong and reliable because they are made with high-quality parts. When you are looking for a mechanic you need to make sure that they will only use OEM parts as replacements. OEM parts are exactly the same as the ones your Ford was built with, they are the only parts that fit right, and will keep your vehicle running its best the longest.

At Crain Ford of Little Rock, our factory-trained mechanics will only use OEM parts for replacements on your Ford car or truck. We know the high performance of your vehicle is partially due to the quality equipment it’s built with, so we don’t ever use aftermarket parts in our shop.

Choose a Factory Trained Ford Mechanic

The mechanics at Crain Ford of Little Rock are ASE Certified and Ford factory-trained, therefore they know the most about Ford vehicles. Our technicians have the most experience with Ford cars and trucks, so when it comes to spotting a common problem or providing preventative maintenance service, they will get the job done right the first time.

The Ford expert mechanics at Crain will use the most up-to-date technology to diagnose and fix any part of your vehicle. Their comprehensive training and extensive knowledge of Ford vehicles mean that you will always receive the highest quality service in the least amount of time.

Look for Competitive Pricing

At Crain Ford, we always price services as low as possible. We research prices at independent garages so that we can keep our rates competitive and you don’t have to question where you will get the best price. A minimal difference in the price of our services is because we employ only the best Master Mechanics who specialize in Ford repairs.

Ask About Warranty Compliance

Ford dealers are the only place you want to take your vehicle, especially if it is still under warranty. Ford Certified mechanics will always comply with the terms of your warranty when you bring your vehicle for maintenance or repair. This way you don’t have to worry about voiding your warranty for something as simple as having the oil replaced with the wrong type without your knowledge.

At Crain Ford, we aim to give you the fullest benefits of your warranty including helping you to figure out what services you are eligible for at no cost. Additionally, our Ford Warranty on replacement parts and repairs is the best you can find in any shop. Not only will we always utilize the benefits of your current warranty but we also provide a supplemental warranty on most of our replacement parts and services.

Quality mechanics can be hard to find, but above all, it is important to make sure the work is being done right and with the correct parts.  When you need service in Little Rock, bring your vehicle to Crain Ford for a free estimate or an in-depth diagnostic by one of our ASE Certified expert mechanics. Contact Crain Ford of Little Rock for more information.

One of the most important steps you can take to keep your Ford vehicle running at its best for the long-term is battery maintenance. A battery will usually last three to five years before you’ll need a new car battery. Of course, your driving habits and the environment in which your vehicle is kept will affect the battery life. Pay attention to signs your battery may be failing to prevent getting stranded and avoid damaging your car.

Five Signs You May Need a New Car Battery

1. The Engine Slowly Cranks When You Start the Motor

When you start your car, especially the first time of the day, pay attention to how the engine sounds when you start the motor. If it sounds like it’s straining or cranking a bit sluggishly, it might be a sign that it’s time to replace the battery. The engine may slowly crank if the weather is cold or the car hasn’t been used in a while. If this is the case, the problem should resolve itself in a little bit. If the engine continues to crank slowly, it could be a warning that your battery will soon fail.

2. Your Battery Warning Light Is On

Your battery warning light goes on when your car starts, but if it stays on or comes on while driving, it could be a sign your car needs a new battery. If the light goes on while driving, it’s a good idea to take it to a service center or dealership quickly. The light warns you the charging system isn’t functioning correctly. Once the battery fully discharges, the car engine will stop.

3. Your Lights Seem Dim

If your car has incandescent headlights and they seem to be dimmer than usual, this could be a sign your battery is failing. You’ll typically notice your headlights seem dim when your car is at idle. You should also pay attention to the lights on your dashboard, as either of these can be a sign your battery charge is low. Sometimes instead of dimming, the lights will flicker; this could also be a sign that your battery needs replacing.

4. Your Battery Voltage Is Less Than 75%

If you have a volt tester, you can check your battery’s voltage right at home. If you test your battery charge and its reading less than 75% or about a voltage of 12.45, then there is a very good chance your car battery needs to be replaced.

5. Your Battery Is More Than Four Years Old

As mentioned earlier, a car battery will last three to five years in ideal conditions. When your battery is three years old, it’s a good idea to start checking it annually. You don’t need to make a special appointment to get your battery checked. When you take your car in for a regular oil change, ask your mechanic to check the battery to determine if it’s still in good condition or needs replacing.

If you live in the Little Rock, AR area, visit Crain Ford of Little Rock for your battery replacement and other car repair needs. We look forward to serving you.

Ford is one of the best-selling vehicle brands in the world. With the release of the 2020 ford F150, the automaker continues to cement its repute as an industry leader. This model is available in six trims, offering buyers options that suit their unique budgets. So, if you’re interested in owning the F150, here are features that make this powerful pickup stand out.

4 Incredible Features of the 2020 Ford F150

1. Auto High-Beam Headlamps

Turning the high beams on and off every time can be somewhat bothersome. Ford has addressed this through the use of auto high-beam headlamps. These lamps automatically turn on when you approach dark peripheries and unlit roads. They then automatically turn off when there’s an oncoming vehicle to avoid blinding other drivers.

They work by sensing the lighting conditions ahead of you and automatically turn on or off. This allows you to keep your focus on the road with both hands on the steering wheel for optimal control.

2. Lane-Keeping System

Drifting out of the lane is something that happens to most drivers. But it can be a dangerous thing, especially when driving on the interstate. Thanks to the Lane-Keeping System, it’s easy to stay in your lane, even when you’re distracted. Read the rest of this entry »

When it comes to mid-size SUVs, no other vehicle out there can match the guile and capability that the 2020 Ford Explorer possesses. This three-row SUV is well ahead of the curve, boasting an array of updates and impressive new features. Below, we break down each feature that makes the all-new Ford Explorer an outstanding and obvious choice in the Sports Utility Vehicles category.

5 Best Features of the 2020 Ford Explorer

1. Smooth Driving Experience

2020 marks the year that the Ford Explorer turned to a rear-wheel-drive setup. The new architecture has not only made this SUV a distinctive choice in terms of design, but it has also made it fun to drive. For a seven-seater SUV, it handles pretty well: it remains steady on winding paths or when you are forced to make a sudden turn. Its braking system feels responsive and seamless. From an electronic boosting perspective, you’ll find the steering wheel perfectly weighted, too.

2. Active Park Assistance 2.0 Elevates Parking Experience

Have you ever pictured yourself getting into a parking spot with only a single click? If you purchase the all-new Ford Explorer, it’ll no longer be a dream. Active Park Assistance 2.0 takes parking to a whole level, allowing you to maneuver tight parking spaces with supreme ease.

The only thing you have to do is click a button, and the system will identify an appropriate parking spot and alert you when it’s time to stop the vehicle and put it in neutral. When this happens, you press the Active Park Assistance button, and the Ford Explorer will navigate itself into that exact spot. Fascinating, right? This digital feature will also allow you to maneuver out of tight spaces without scratching your vehicle. Read the rest of this entry »
